Overview
Singleton Schreiber is the nation’s preeminent wildfire-litigation firm. We have represented over 26,000 victims of wildfires – more than any other law firm in the United States – and recovered over $2.5 billion in settlements and verdicts for our clients. We have played a significant role in litigation resulting from virtually every major fire in the western United States since 2007, and we currently represent thousands of victims affected by wildfires in California, Colorado, Hawaii, New Mexico, Oregon, and Washington.
With more than 300 employees in offices throughout the Western United States, we have the resources and experience to help individuals, businesses, and public entities pursue recovery against utility companies and/or the federal government for damages caused by wildfires. From individuals who were forced to evacuate and were temporarily displaced to those who have lost their homes and businesses, suffered personal injury, or lost loved ones, we understand how devastating fire losses can be and will work hand in hand with you to navigate the process of recovery.
Why You Need an Experienced Fire Lawyer
People affected by fire can suffer many types of losses, including property damage, evacuation expenses, lost income, personal injury, stress and anguish, and wrongful death. While many fire victims are uninsured, even those with insurance rarely recover all they are entitled to and are left with significant deficits. Many policyholders are underinsured and many categories of damages are outside the purview of insurance
coverage altogether, such as emotional damages, or erosion, or are largely uncovered, such as landscaping and trees. Our experienced lawyers work with each client individually to assess their unique losses and ensure that they receive full and fair compensation.
Because we take fire litigation cases on a contingency-fee basis, we do not get paid unless our clients are paid. We advance the costs of working with the top restoration experts in fields such as rebuilding, erosion, and tree loss to determine damages and help our clients maximize their recovery.
We provide our clients with access to an insurance expert, free of charge, for consulting purposes. Our team is also available to assist with FEMA applications and appeals at no cost. And all of our clients have unlimited access to our on-staff social worker, who is available to assist with finding housing, applying for financial aid, and locating mental health resources. We have direct connections with counselors, FEMA, the Red Cross, and other disaster relief organizations.
For more details about how Singleton Schreiber can help you recover from a particular wildfire, including the recent Airport Fire in Orange County and Mountain Fire in Ventura County, please see the related FAQs on our website or contact us.
