Nearly 200 homeowners, renters and business owners are suing Pacific Gas and Electric, alleging the utility is responsible for losses they’ve suffered from the Dixie Fire.
The lawsuit comes after PG&E told regulators in July that California’s second-largest wildfire in history may have been started by a tree that leaned into one of its power lines. PG&E said days later that it planned to bury 10,000 miles of lines in fire-prone areas.
