Gerald Singleton, Managing Partner at Singleton Schreiber in San Diego, was featured on Law and Crime in their article, "“They Were on Notice”: Power Company Failed to “De-energize” Wires During “Wind Events,” Contributing to Devastating California Fire, Lawsuits Say".

The article covers the deadly Eaton Fire in Los Angeles and how homeowners have begun to file lawsuits against the Southern California Edision (SCE) utility company with several law firms. The suits allege that SCE was responsible for the deadly wildfire as a result of the company failing to de-energize its overhead wires which traverse Eaton Canyon, that they ignored a red flag PDS wind warning issued by the National Weather Service a day before the ignition of the fire, and cites witness accounts and videos from social media that showed flames breaking out beneath their transmission towers.

“Everything we’ve seen points to Edison’s power lines being the cause of the fire,” said Mr. Singleton concluded.

The Eaton Fire remains 35% contained and is estimated to have caused between $250 billion - $275 billion.  At least 24 people have confirmed to have died in the fires, with 23 people being reported as missing.
