Case Results

  • The homeowners, a couple, lost their custom-built home and an apartment complex they relied on for rental income. The Camp Fire destroyed their home, its contents, and the surrounding trees and landscaping, as well as 10 of 12 buildings at the apartment complex property, recently renovated with new roofs and shutters, and many trees.

  • These homeowners were away on vacation when the Camp Fire burned through their community. The couple’s home was a three-story house with a log exterior on 6.5 acres. The house, its contents, and surrounding property burned; it was a total loss. The fire also destroyed the couple’s vehicles that were parked onsite, which included two trucks and several motorcycles.

  • The homeowners undertook the cleanup themselves and began rebuilding, but they encountered difficulties in working with their insurance company to be reimbursed for their losses. Discouraged and exasperated, they reached out to our firm for assistance. We took action on their behalf and succeeded in winning a settlement of over $4.6 million to help this family rebuild their home and their lives.

  • Disheartened by their losses, the homeowners met with resistance and delays when they sought compensation from their insurance company. Frustrated and upset, they came to us for assistance, and we agreed that they were not being treated fairly. Our firm represented the homeowners and succeeded in obtaining a settlement of over $4 million for them to help cover the expense of rebuilding.

  • Appalled by the way they were treated, the son came to our firm seeking help in changing the insurance company’s position. On the homeowners’ behalf, we challenged the insurer’s decisions, and we succeeded in securing a settlement of over $2.6 million to help meet their costs and relieve some of their stress.
