Overview

Matt Huffman is a contract attorney working with Singleton Schreiber’s Fire Litigation Division. As both the son of a volunteer fireman and a victim of fire himself — he saw his childhood home destroyed and his hometown devastated by the Clayton Fire in 2016 — Mr. Huffman is passionate about pursuing justice for his clients.

A proud U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Huffman was honored with many awards during his military service, including the Expert Infantryman Badge and the Army Commendation Medal. He is active in the veteran community, serving as a leader in the nonprofit organization Veteran’s PATH, which provides community and support to former members of the U.S. military as they return to their families and reintegrate into civilian life. He also is active with Veteran Surf Alliance and Team Rubicon.

Mr. Huffman earned his bachelor’s degree in construction management from California State University, Chico, before graduating from Empire College School of Law. He was a recipient of the Vietnam Veterans of California Scholarship. As a law student, Mr. Huffman volunteered at Legal Aid of Sonoma County under the guidance of former Sonoma County District Attorney, Mike Mullins. He also spent two years as a certified law student in felony criminal defense, researching, writing, and arguing motions under the mentorship of accomplished trial attorney, Barry Melton. His victories included a Governor’s Pardon. Before working with Mr. Melton, Mr. Huffman performed research assignments for personal injury and construction contract attorney, Tim Hannan. He is admitted to practice in California state courts and the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of California.

Mr. Huffman is a father to two daughters and enjoys surfing, concerts, and traveling.
