Gerald Singleton, Managing Partner at Singleton Schreiber, was recently featured in the Statesman Journal in an article titled “Destructive Rowena Fire in Oregon was ignited by Union Pacific train, lawsuit alleges.” In the article, Singleton discusses the firm’s recently filed lawsuit against Union Pacific on behalf of two residents affected by the 3,600-acre Rowena Fire in Wasco County, Oregon. The lawsuit alleges the fire was started by a Union Pacific train that emitted superheated particles, igniting dry brush and destroying dozens of homes.
“This appears to be yet another tragic example of preventable wildfire destruction linked to railroad operations,” Singleton said. “Families have lost their homes, livelihoods, and sense of security all because of corporate irresponsibility.” The firm is also hosting a community town hall on June 26th, 2025 at The Dalles Civic Auditorium to provide residents with legal information and support.
