ABOUT ME

Vanessa Ratliff is a Senior Paralegal Manager in the Sexual Assault/Human Trafficking Team, which is part of the Personal Injury Department at Singleton Schreiber. She is excited to be a team member at Singleton Schreiber because of the firm’s dedication to advocating for clients and championing their causes, which resonates deeply with her own professional values. This commitment not only underscores Singleton Schreiber’s integrity but also its role as a trusted partner and ally in achieving meaningful outcomes.

Vanessa has over 30 years of experience at both national and regional law firms. She has a broad range of civil litigation expertise in both federal and state courts. Vanessa spent the early years of her career at the DOJ: U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of California. When she switched to the private sector, she was able to hone her litigation and trial practice skills at several San Diego firms, supporting civil litigation in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, complex business, medical malpractice, and other matters. In the last 16 years, she has focused on personal injury litigation with an emphasis on sexual abuse/assault cases, representing both child and adult victims. Vanessa graduated from the University of San Diego with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and returned to the University of San Diego to receive her Paralegal Certificate in 1995.

Outside of work, Vanessa deeply enjoys traveling, cooking, and playing golf. Vanessa shares her home in Ocean Beach with her partner, Lance, and their two adorable dogs: a pit bull mix named Luca and a French bulldog named Bear.
