Judy Salas

ABOUT ME

Judy Salas is a legal executive assistant with the environmental nuisance litigation teams led by Knut Johnson and Robert Saunooke. She is excited to be returning to the environmental law area after working in the oil and gas legal field for five years in San Antonio. Every day she feels empowered to collaborate with professionals that are passionate about protecting the plant for future generations.

Judy fell into the legal field by accident and worked her way up the ladder as a word processor to legal secretary and finally to paralegal at the oldest law firm in Sacramento where she credits getting all her knowledge in various areas of law and over time she discovered a deep interest for the legal field. It was when she left the legal sector briefly to try something new in the corporate sector that she realized how much she missed supporting seasoned professionals who also have similar passions about environmental law and climate change.
Apart from work, Judy enjoys spending time with her 88-year-old mom (a two-time breast cancer survivor) who lives with her in the San Antonio area. They both enjoy visiting her daughter and son-in-law who live in Austin. She also likes road trips, especially if they lead to awesome live music concerts. She has rescues, one which is a terrier-chi mix and the other a mix of everything. Jackie O and Grace Kelly keep her active on their daily walks.

FUN FACT

I am of Mexican/American decent but was not taught Spanish growing up which makes it more interesting that after high school, I was an opener for famous Mariachi singers from Mexico. At the time, I sang in Spanish but did not know what I was singing about. In time I learned to speak very fluent Spanglish!
