US Senator Jon Ossoff who represents Georgia. Georgia is a battleground state, which means every federal election is a tough battle between Democrats and Republicans. Senator Ossoff recently launched an investigation uncovering reports of medical neglect and denial of enough food and water in immigration detention centers. Learn more about the investigation here.

US Congressman Mike Levin who represents California's 49th Congressional District, joined our host committee. The 49th District covers south Orange County and northern San Diego County. Congressman Levin and other San Diego Congressional Members have also stood up to ICE by demanding the Department of Homeland Security provide answers about the nearly 200 people being detained under the Edward J. Schwartz Federal Building in San Diego and transferring them to the facility’s basement.

Assemblymember Tasha Boerner who represents California's 77th Assembly District will be attending. She represents coastal San Diego County from Carlsbad to Coronado. Her legislation focuses on the environment and regulation of public utilities.

San Diego County Board Supervisor Monica Montgomery Steppe represents District 4, which includes North Clairemont, Linda Vista, Mission Valley, Old Town, Balboa Park, Paradise Hills, Rancho San Diego, Mount Helix, Grantville and everything in between. Supervisor Montgomery Steppe is the first Black woman elected to the SD County Board of Supervisors and her priorities include racial justice, homelessness solutions, and reformation of the behavioral health system.
