Overview

Danielle Ward Mason is a mass tort personal injury attorney who focuses on claims involving dangerous and defective pharmaceutical drugs, medical devices, and consumer products. Her work has centered largely on cases affecting women’s health.

Danielle currently leads nationwide litigation in multiple state courts involving chemical hair relaxers, which have been linked to reproductive cancers and tumors that disproportionately affect Black women. She has also litigated drug and device cases involving Reglan, hormone replacement therapy, transvaginal mesh, talcum powder, Elmiron, and Invokana.

Danielle is an active member of the firm’s Sexual Assault and Sex Trafficking practice group, where she advocates for survivors and works to hold perpetrators and enablers accountable.

She is nationally recognized as one of the country’s most successful talcum powder litigation attorneys and has helped secure nearly $1 billion in verdicts against Johnson & Johnson in cases alleging failure to warn about ovarian cancer risks. Courts have also recognized her commitment to advancing plaintiffs’ interests through leadership appointments, including service on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in federal multidistrict litigation for Elmiron in 2024 and Invokana in 2017.

Over nearly 20 years of practice, Danielle has received numerous awards and extensive recognition for her legal advocacy. She is an active member of the American Association for Justice, where she serves on several committees and is an active participant in the both the Minority and Women’s Trial Lawyer Caucuses.

Danielle has held numerous leadership roles in Alabama legal organizations, including serving as president of the Alabama Lawyers Association and president of the Montgomery County Association for Justice. Her contributions to legal discourse have also been recognized through her article featured in AAJ Trial Magazine.

She is especially proud of her partnership and involvement with the Mason Gibbs Plaintiffs Pathway Fellowship, a summer fellowship program bearing her name that introduces rising first-year law students to the values and ideals of plaintiff-centered legal work.

Danielle was born and raised in historic Montgomery, Alabama, where she currently manages the firm’s Montgomery office.
