Rollingout

Danielle Ward Mason, Partner at Singleton Schreiber, was recently featured in Rollout's article, "NAACP and Singleton Schreiber Unite to Challenge Hair Relaxer Corporations", which covers Singleton Schreiber and the NAACP's recently filed lawsuit against major beauty corporations (including Soft Sheen-Carson LLC), which argues that these companies were accountable for aggressively marketing chemical hair relaxers to Black women and women of color, despite these products being linked to severe health conditions including uterine cancer, ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer, uterine fibroids, and to procedures like a hysterectomy, myomectomy, or endometrial ablation.

Danielle Ward Mason expressed that the partnership with the NAACP aligns with their mission to protect the health and rights of Black women and the necessity of these companies being transparent and honest about the chemicals they use. Ms. Ward Mason and the rest of the campaign hope to not only hold these corporations accountable, but to also compensate victims and raise awareness about the potential dangers of these widely used products.
