Singleton Schreiber Launches Impact Litigation & Policy Group, Names Mississippi Attorney Letitia Johnson to Lead

Jackson, MS — Singleton Schreiber announced the launch of its Impact Litigation & Policy Group, a new practice area dedicated to identifying emerging environmental, public health, and community harms and developing novel litigation strategies to confront them. Singleton Schreiber Partner Letitia Johnson will lead this new group.

The Impact Litigation & Policy Group will serve as an incubator and think tank within the firm for high-impact cases, combining legal analysis, scientific research, policy advocacy, and stakeholder engagement to move novel and meaningful matters from investigation to litigation. The group's attorneys will work at the intersection of law, science, public policy, and community advocacy, partnering with affected communities, nonprofit organizations, researchers, and subject matter experts to identify potential claims, evaluate legal theories, and build cases designed to drive meaningful change.

The group's work will span emerging areas such as environmental contamination, toxic exposure, data center impacts on communities and natural resources, consumer and civil rights issues, and other matters involving significant public interest concerns. The group will also support community-benefits initiatives, policy development efforts, and strategic partnerships aimed at improving accountability and protecting vulnerable populations.

"Some of the most serious harms facing communities today don't fit neatly into existing legal categories, whether it's a contaminated water source, the strain a new data center puts on a town's resources, or a public health threat that hasn't caught up with the law yet," said Letitia Johnson, Partner of Singleton Schreiber’s Southeastern Region offices. "This group exists to do the groundwork by partnering with the scientists, researchers, and community members who see these problems firsthand, and building the legal theories that hold responsible parties accountable. I'm honored to lead a team built to take on that kind of work."

Representative areas of focus for the Impact Litigation & Policy Group include: Environmental and toxic tort litigation, data center and infrastructure impacts, community advocacy and environmental justice, public health and consumer protection matters, policy analysis and regulatory engagement, strategic partnerships with community organizations and experts, emerging and novel litigation opportunities, military loan arbitration agreements, terminal water line and cancer link investigations, community benefits agreements, and international relationship development.

Cases developed by the group will move from initial concept through legal and factual vetting before transitioning to litigation teams for prosecution, combining rigorous investigation, scientific evaluation, and strategic case development to create litigation opportunities that advance both client interests and broader community goals.
