Press Release

SAN DIEGO, CA — Singleton Schreiber proudly participated in Feeding San Diego’s Food from the Bar campaign, a month-long effort by the legal community to raise funds and volunteer in support of hunger-relief across the region.

The 2025 campaign raised more than $149,000 in total, providing the equivalent of over 299,000 nutritious meals to children and families facing food insecurity in San Diego County.

As part of this effort, Singleton Schreiber staff and attorneys raised $37,675, which the firm is matching dollar-for-dollar, totaling $75,350. With this combined total, the firm will fund three food pantries in high-poverty schools, beginning in the fall of 2025. These school-based pantries will offer consistent access to food for students and their families, addressing hunger directly where it impacts learning and development.

These school-based pantries are part of a growing effort to address hunger where it directly impacts learning and development. Currently, 62 schools across San Diego County have food pantries installed, serving low-income school communities with access to healthy dry staples and fresh produce. More than 35 additional schools are on a waitlist—and that number continues to grow—as demand rises county-wide. Feeding San Diego has set a goal to establish at least 100 school pantries by 2030.

Food from the Bar, now in its 13th year, engages law firms, legal organizations, and professionals across San Diego County to support Feeding San Diego’s mission—particularly during the summer months when food insecurity intensifies for children who typically rely on school meals.

This campaign demonstrates the powerful impact the legal bar can have when it comes together for a shared purpose. By leveraging its collective resources and influence, the legal community plays a meaningful role in addressing systemic challenges like hunger, reinforcing its broader commitment to justice and community well-being.

Singleton Schreiber’s involvement included a firm-wide fundraising initiative, volunteer participation, and internal engagement to rally support. The firm’s contribution not only aided in reaching the campaign’s overall goal but will also have a lasting impact in underserved communities through the direct funding of local food access points.
