Press Release

Albuquerque, NM – Singleton Schreiber proudly welcomes Alexander Flores, a former federal prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), as Senior Counsel in the firm’s New Mexico office. Flores, a highly accomplished attorney, brings extensive experience in federal litigation to the firm, where he will play a key role in mass tort claims, wildfire litigation, catastrophic personal injury and wrongful deaths, and cases under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA), including litigation in the U.S. Court of Claims.

A dedicated public servant, Flores spent five years at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Mexico, where he personally prosecuted nearly 200 federal felony cases and co-led the Indian Country Crimes Section, where he supervised hundreds more cases. Prior to his time at DOJ, Flores served in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he worked as a prosecutor and instructor on the law of war. He is now an officer in the New Mexico Air National Guard.

Flores resigned from the DOJ last month citing concerns over the administration’s politicization of the Justice Department, punitive measures against dissenters, legal policies that undermined civil rights and due process protections, and the questioning of Native Americans' U.S. citizenship in court.

“Alexander’s integrity, experience, and dedication to justice make him an outstanding addition to our firm,” said Brian Colón, Managing Partner of Singleton Schreiber’s New Mexico office. “His background in federal litigation and deep commitment to protecting vulnerable communities align perfectly with our mission to hold corporations and government entities accountable for wrongdoing.”

Flores said joining Singleton Schreiber allows him to continue fighting for justice outside of government service.

“My life’s work in public service has been committed to advocating for and to protecting victims and communities,” Flores said. “I’m honored to join Singleton Schreiber to get back in the fight against powerful institutions and other bad actors—whether in personal injury cases, mass torts, or complex federal litigation.”

Flores will play a critical role in litigation related to the Hermits Peak / Calf Canyon (HPCC) FTCA actions and HPCC cases in the U.S. Court of Claims, strengthening the firm’s expertise in federal tort claims, environmental cases, and government accountability litigation.
