Michelle Meyers, Counsel of Singleton Schreiber, has been working on a class-action suit against a major home-insurer.  This class-action was recently reported on by Daily Mail, "Liberty Mutual Refused Woman Insurance on Her $1.8M Home Over This Photo, Leaving Her Outraged. Can You See Why?" The article discusses Maria Badin’s class-action lawsuit against Liberty Mutual for canceling her homeowner’s insurance based on a disputed aerial photograph allegedly showing mold on her roof. Badin, a 30-year policyholder for her $1.8 million Poway, California, home, provided independent inspection evidence that her roof was in excellent condition, contradicting the insurer's claim.

Meyers stated, "They’ve insured these homes for years with the same risks they had at the time. It seems pretty clear that (the non-renewal decision) was done for money.” The lawsuit accuses Liberty Mutual of prioritizing profit by unjustly dropping policies, a trend affecting thousands of Californians amidst an insurance crisis fueled by climate risks.
