Kristina Aiad-Toss, Counsel at Singleton Schreiber, and the firm’s litigation team were featured by Nogales International in an article titled “Ex-Member Alleges Forced Labor, Coercion by Religious Group,” published on October 16, 2026.
Aiad-Toss and the firm, with co-counsel Merchasin Law, represent Joshua Lilly, a former member of Global Community Communications Alliance (GCCA), in a lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona. The Singleton Schreiber team also includes Brian S. Colón, Managing Partner, New Mexico; Katie Llamas, Counsel; Meagan Dove, Counsel; Pilar Borneo, Associate Attorney; and Samantha Drum, Independent Contractor Attorney.
The human trafficking lawsuit brings claims under the federal Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act (TVPRA). It alleges that over about 10 years, Lilly performed thousands of hours of unpaid labor, designing and building more than 40 structures through Earth Harmony Builders, an entity owned by GCCA and its for-profit corporation, Avalon Universal Enterprises, near Tumacácori in Santa Cruz County, Arizona. The complaint was filed July 23, 2026, in Tucson and amended September 25. GCCA filed a motion to dismiss on October 9, arguing in part that the claims are barred by the TVPRA’s 10-year statute of limitations. Lilly is seeking a jury trial.
