A class action lawsuit has been filed on behalf of consumers harmed by defective waist trainers sold on Amazon. The case was filed on behalf of plaintiffs who purchased and used the YIANNA Waist Trainer, which caused severe skin injuries, including rashes, burns, blisters, and scars.
Despite being aware of the product's dangerous defects since at least 2016, Amazon continued to market and sell the waist trainer without adequate warnings or safety information.
Plaintiffs believed, based on marketing claims, that purchasing the waist trainer would help with weight loss and create an hourglass figure. However, instead of experiencing these benefits, many suffered painful and lasting skin damage after using the product.

The lawsuit brings multiple claims including strict product liability, breach of warranty, negligence, fraud, and violations of California’s Unfair Competition Law. It seeks compensation for the plaintiffs and calls for stronger consumer protections.
