Ted Barudin

Senior Attorney, Ted Barudin, serves as Of Counsel at Singleton Schreiber, bringing more than four decades of experience representing New Mexicans in complex personal injury, medical malpractice, and Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) litigation. Ted has dedicated his career to advocating for Native individuals and families across tribal, state, and federal courts.

Prior to joining Singleton Schreiber, Barudin was the founder and owner of the Barudin Law Firm in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Over his distinguished career, Ted has earned a reputation as a trusted advocate, combining deep legal expertise with an unwavering dedication to client centered representation.

Barudin began his professional journey as a teacher in the Wisconsin Native American Teacher Corps Program from 1973 to 1978, an experience that inspired his lifelong commitment to serving Native communities. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce Law Center and a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin Madison. Early in his legal career, he also served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of New Mexico, where he litigated the acquisition of Southern Union Gas Company by PNM.

Ted is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Federal District Courts for the Districts of New Mexico, Arizona, and Massachusetts. He is also a member of the State Bar of New Mexico, the Bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and is admitted to practice before several tribal courts, including the Courts of the Navajo Nation, Hopi Tribal Court, Zuni Pueblo Court, and Isleta Pueblo Court. Ted is an active member of the New Mexico Bar Association, New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Association for Justice.

Outside the courtroom, Ted is a lifelong car enthusiast and proud “hot rodder.” He has owned his 1941 Chevrolet truck for more than 48 years, driving it across the country from Wisconsin to New Hampshire, Alaska, and New Mexico. Ted is married to Ann Chavez Barudin, and together they have three daughters and five grandchildren.
