Paula Brown

Senior Counsel

Overview

Paula Brown serves as Senior Counsel at Singleton Schreiber's San Diego office, where she is a member of the firm's Class Action and Consumer Protection practice groups. For nearly 20 years, Ms. Brown has represented consumers in complex class action litigation involving false advertising, defective vehicles, financial fraud, nursing home understaffing, insurance misconduct, and other unfair business practices.

Before joining Singleton Schreiber, Ms. Brown was a partner at a major consumer protection class action firm, building deep experience litigating on behalf of consumers against companies that put profits ahead of the people they serve. That experience has shaped her reputation as a determined advocate for plaintiffs facing well-resourced corporate defendants. Her case work includes representing plaintiffs in Montera v. Premier Nutrition Corp., a class action brought to recoup money spent by consumers on a product falsely advertised to provide pain relief to arthritis sufferers, which resulted in a favorable jury verdict and $90 million global settlement, as well as Alcantara, et al. v. American Honda Motor Co. Inc., et al., a class action against American Honda Motor Co. over allegedly defective turbocharged engines prone to overheating and head gasket failure, and Aliff v. Vervent, Inc., against a student loan servicer over their participation in a civil RICO enterprise. That experience has shaped her reputation as a determined advocate for plaintiffs facing well-resourced corporate defendants.

Ms. Brown has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to the plaintiffs' bar, serving as the current President of the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego Foundation, the current Governmental Relations Committee Chair of the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, and current member of the Board of Directors of Consumer Attorneys of California. She is also an active member of the Louis M. Welsh Inn of Court, American Association of Justice, and San Diego County Bar Association where she serves on the Legislative Committee. Her contributions to the field have been recognized through Super Lawyers (2026) and Rising Star (2015-2017) honors.

Ms. Brown earned her Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Washington in 2004 and graduated cum laude from California Western School of Law in 2007, where she served on the California Western Law Review. She is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in California, as well as the Northern District of Illinois and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Eighth and Ninth Circuits.

When not litigating on behalf of consumers, Ms. Brown enjoys yoga, hiking with her dog, fishing with her husband, and cheering on her favorite sports teams.
