Marianna Sarkisyan

Senior Counsel, Deputy Practice Group Manager

Overview

Marianna Sarkisyan is Counsel and Deputy Practice Group Manager of Singleton Schreiber's Environmental Litigation and Policy practice group, based in the firm's Denver office. A seasoned litigator with nearly two decades of practice, including more than a decade focused on environmental, land use, and administrative law, Marianna plays a leading role in several of the firm's most complex environmental matters.

Marianna serves as Plaintiffs' Liaison Counsel and as a member of the Plaintiffs' Executive Committee in the Moss Landing Fire Cases, JCCP No. 5427, the coordinated proceeding in Alameda County Superior Court arising out of the January 2025 fire at the Moss Landing battery energy storage facility. She also serves on the Plaintiffs' Leadership Committee in the Chiquita Canyon Landfill litigation, brought on behalf of communities in northern Los Angeles County harmed by hazardous emissions from the Castaic, California landfill. In addition, Marianna is counsel for plaintiffs in a mass tort action against LACOSAN and the County of Lake arising from a sewage spill that impacted residents of Clearlake, California.

Before joining Singleton Schreiber, Marianna served in senior environmental litigation roles across Florida government. As Assistant Deputy General Counsel at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, she oversaw litigation across multiple regulatory districts, managed a team of litigation attorneys, and represented the Agency in high-profile cases before Florida's administrative, state, and appellate courts. She previously served as a Senior Litigation Attorney at both the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the South Florida Water Management District, advising on environmental permitting and enforcement, and most recently as a Senior Associate County Attorney for the Palm Beach County Attorney's Office, representing the County in complex state and federal land use and environmental litigation.

Marianna is board-certified in State and Federal Administrative Practice and Government Law by the Florida Bar — a designation held by fewer than 6% of Florida lawyers and considered the gold standard of professional expertise in the field.

Marianna earned her J.D. from Florida State University College of Law in 2008, where she served as Articles & Notes Editor for both the Journal of Land Use & Environmental Law and the Journal of Transnational Law & Policy and as a member of the Business Law Review. She holds a B.A. from Brandeis University in English and American Literature and Philosophy, with a minor in Russian Literature & Language.

Marianna is licensed to practice in Colorado, Massachusetts, and Florida, and is a member of the Colorado Bar Association and the Denver Bar Association. Fluent in Russian, she is an avid cyclist, hiker, and outdoor enthusiast.
