Overview

Colonel Breven Parsons, USMC (Ret.), brings over 28 years of experience as a litigator and supervisory attorney to his position as Chief Operating Officer at Singleton Schreiber.  

For 24 years, Col. Parsons served on active duty as an attorney in the United States Marine Corps, taking on the roles of prosecutor, defense counsel, supervisory attorney for litigation teams, legal advisor in combat, United Nations Military Observer, and officer in charge of Marine Corps legal services teams. He has handled hundreds of cases in civilian and military courts, including family law, contracts, juvenile court, and military criminal cases (courts-martial), and served as the lead prosecutor and supervisory attorney for the busiest prosecution office in the Marine Corps.  

After earning an LLM with a concentration in Operational and International Law in 2008, Col. Parsons served in a wide variety of senior leadership roles for the Marine Corps. These included leading a team of over 200 attorneys and support staff while providing legal services for Marine Corps installations in California and Arizona, serving as the Commanding Officer for Marine Security Guards at U.S. Embassies in 16 nations in Eastern Europe and Asia, and launching a prosecution support and training program for Marine Corps Prosecutors around the world that is still in service today. 

Following his military career, Col. Parsons served as an attorney with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and founded a successful solo law practice specializing in estate planning, business planning, and military and veteran’s law.  

Col. Parsons volunteers for the San Diego County Bar Association’s “Wills for Heroes” program and enjoys coaching youth sports.
