Singleton Schreiber is pleased to announce their own seasoned attorney, Mark Fleming, has been promoted to Partner in their San Diego office.
Currently, Mark represents clients in the areas of mass torts, civil rights, and criminal defense. He is one of the few attorneys in the country to have tried over 100 cases before federal juries. Every year since 2008, his peers have recognized him as being in the top 5% of San Diego lawyers, as reflected in his annual selection in Super Lawyers of San Diego.
Mark first began his career as a trial attorney in 1993 at Federal Defenders of San Diego. While there, he honed his trial and appellate skills for five years. After briefly returning to his home state of New York to try cases, he was recruited back to Federal Defenders of San Diego in 2000. Upon his return, he supervised a trial team of 10 attorneys.
In March 2022, Mr. Fleming and his co-counsel, Timothy Scott, represented the family of a young man killed by the San Diego Sheriff's Department. A federal jury returned an 85-million-dollar verdict for the family. It is the largest civil rights wrongful death verdict in history.
