Brett Schreiber, Founding Partner of Singleton Schreiber was recently featured in a Rolling Stone story, discussing how Tesla is set to unveil a fully autonomous "robotaxi." There is skepticism about its viability, especially since similar self-driving technology from competitors like Google, Amazon, and GM is already operational. Tesla faces legal challenges over its existing driver-assistance systems, Autopilot and Full Self-Driving (FSD), both of which are under investigation for potentially overstating their safety.

Tesla is named in numerous lawsuits, many involving accidents allegedly caused by drivers believing their vehicles were fully autonomous. In one case, a motorcyclist, on a freeway, stopping for traffic ahead, was hit and sent flying into the air by a Tesla engaged in self-driving.  The software failed to take action to avoid the motorcyclist, who now suffers life-threatening injuries and severe traumatic brain injury.

“It’s not hyperbole to say that they’ve turned our public roadways into their own personal laboratory, and everybody else is now a guinea pig in what can very much be a life or death experiment,” says Brett Schreiber. Representing multiple injured parties, he highlights Tesla’s use of public roads as testing grounds for unproven technology, leading to preventable tragedies.

Tesla’s legal challenges are mounting as trials loom in 2025.
