Brett Schreiber, Founding Partner at Singleton Schreiber, was recently featured by Reuters in their article, "Tesla Settles Two California Lawsuits on 2019 California Crashes Related to Autopilot Software" published on September 16th. 2025.
The article highlights the settlement of two of Schreiber's wrongful death lawsuits against Tesla. These cases were a result of Autopilot software failures in 2019 that led to the death of a 15-year-old boy in Alameda County and the deaths of two people in Gardena after their vehicle was struck at a red light by a Tesla Model S on Autopilot.
Reuters notes that Tesla's decision to settle comes after a recent setback in Miami, where a jury imposed a $200 million verdict after finding the company partially responsible for a fatal collision with a parked SUV.
The settlements also occur amidst increased scrutiny from lawmakers ahead of Tesla's robotaxi launch.
