Singleton Schreiber attorneys Brett Schreiber, Satyasrinivas M. Hanumadass, and Carmela S. Birnbaum were recently featured in Law360 in an article titled “Tesla Engineer Says Company Kept Scant Safety Data.” The article highlights their role representing the family of Naibel Benavides Leon in a trial against Tesla, alleging the company misrepresented the safety and capabilities of its autopilot system.

The case stems from a 2019 crash in Key Largo that resulted in Benavides’ death and serious injuries to her boyfriend. Central to the lawsuit are claims that Tesla failed to preserve autopilot safety data prior to 2018 and marketed its technology in a way that misled consumers about its limitations.
