Brian Colón, Managing Partner at Singleton Schreiber's law offices in New Mexico, was recently featured by the Las Cruces Sun News in their article, "Sunland Park and Santa Teresa residents file suit against Camino Real Regional Utility Authority".

This article provides an overview of the recent environmental complaint filed by eight Sunland Park and Santa Teresa residents on November 20th against the Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) on the basis that CRRUA had committed public and private nuisance, trespassed on due process, breached contract, battery, and violated several New Mexico acts including the New Mexico Civil Rights Act and the New Mexico Torts Claims Act with the discovery that their water contained high levels of arsenic in 2023 and endangered over 20,000 customers.

"We're going to hold Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) accountable to make sure that going forward, (residents) have water coming out of their homes that they can trust is safe. And we won't stop fighting until we get that," said Mr. Colón, managing partner at Singleton Schreiber said.

"There are more people out there that are fearful, and quite frankly, that's why this community has been taken advantage of, and it's heartbreaking, but we will be their voice, and a new day will come for this community when they can take comfort in knowing that the water that they're bathing in, cooking with and drinking, is safe, and I won't leave until that happens"
