Singleton Schreiber attorney Katie Llamas was recently featured in a KIRO 7 news segment "Motel 6 Facing Sex Trafficking Lawsuit" on April 20, 2024. Llamas spoke on behalf of a survivor who claimed that staff at the three Motel 6 locations were aware of the trafficking happening behind closed doors. According to Llamas, the survivor continues to suffer as a result of the exploitation driven by the motel's desire for profit, alleging that traffickers regularly rented rooms at these locations to imprison and traffic individuals, with employees reportedly being familiar with the traffickers. Llamas emphasized that these hotels and motels are complicit in the trafficking activities, knowingly allowing non-consensual prostitution to occur. The lawsuit also implicates Backpage and Salesforce for their alleged roles in facilitating sex trafficking.
