Knut Johnson, Senior Counsel of Singleton Schreiber, was recently featured in a Lookout Santa Cruz article, titled "Moss Landing residents file lawsuit against Vistra weeks after battery facility fire," discussing the lawsuit filed against Vistra Corp. over the January 16 fire at the Moss Landing battery storage facility. The lawsuit, backed by renowned environmental advocate Erin Brockovich, demands an investigation into the fire’s cause, compensation for residents suffering from health issues and property damage, and stricter safety regulations for battery storage facilities.

“This is your typical David-versus-Goliath scenario,” said Johnson. “We got the citizens versus these big corporations, and they can stall and drag [the lawsuit] out.” Singleton Schreiber is also hosting a virtual town hall on Tuesday, where Brockovich will join to discuss the case and its impact on the community.
