ABC 7 News

Knut Johnson, Senior Counsel at Singleton Schreiber in San Diego, was recently featured by ABC 7 News during its news segment, "Moss Landing Battery Plant Reopening", which aired on June 4, 2025.

The segment focused on comments made by famed environmental activist Erin Brockovich and Mr. Johnson, who both questioned Vistra Energy and PG&E's decision to reopen the Moss Landing battery plant after a fire erupted in February. The report highlighted Vistra's announcement of completing the delinking of the facility's ruins and PG&E's discovery of a leak in its cooling system, which delayed the scheduled opening of an adjacent battery storage facility on Sunday.

ABC 7 also outlined the mass torts lawsuit filed against these companies, noting the suit's goal to secure comprehensive medical monitoring for local residents who continue to face health and environmental impacts from the fire (including exposure to toxic gases and contamination of soil and water) and to demand critical industry-wide reforms to ensure the long-term safety of the Moss Landing community.
