Media Mention
Las Cruces Sun-News

Brian Colón, Managing Partner of Singleton Schreiber's New Mexico offices, was recently featured in Las Cruces Sun News' article, "Las Cruces Public Schools File Suit Against Meta Over Impacts on Mental Health" which provides an overview of the lawsuit filed by the Las Cruces Public Schools District (LCPS) against Meta, Google, ByteDance, and Snap Inc on the basis that these social media companies are leading to a mental health crisis among students.

"When children become hooked on these platforms and are exposed to harmful content, they face a heightened risk of depression, anxiety, and other serious mental health issues," said Brian Colón who added that they are, "seek[ing] to hold social media companies accountable for the damage their platforms have caused".

The article also provides statistics from the U.S. Surgeon General on the health warnings for young people on social media; the steps that LCPS has taken to protect students from bullying, violence, or threats of self harm; and the steps that Meta has taken to try to reduce social media harm.
