Brett Schreiber, Founding Partner at Singleton Schreiber, was recently featured in The Guardian in an article titled “Jury orders Tesla to pay more than $200m to plaintiffs in deadly 2019 Autopilot crash.” In the article, Schreiber discusses the firm’s recent $240 million verdict against Tesla in a case involving the death of Naibel Benavides Leon and severe injuries to her boyfriend, Dillon Angulo.

Schreiber stated in his closing arguments, “The car they claimed to have invented didn’t exist,” emphasizing that Tesla knowingly exaggerated the capabilities of its Autopilot technology. The case marks a landmark win that could pave the way for further litigation against autonomous vehicle manufacturers.
