Family and Lawyer Suing Federal Government Seek Accountability and Justice for Their Dog

Ong represents the Daw family in a federal lawsuit against the U.S. government, filed on behalf of Seth Daw following the death of his dog, Chop, during a Border Patrol search of his home in September. Ong appeared alongside Paul Daw, Seth's father, in a live studio interview discussing the case.
The lawsuit raises claims tied to the conduct of Border Patrol agents during the search, including the use of a firearm and the shooting of the family's dog. DHS has stated the incident is under review by CBP's Office of Professional Responsibility. The Daw family has also filed a petition asking the El Paso District Attorney to pursue criminal charges against the agent involved.
"Our lawsuit has to deal with the conduct of Border Patrol at that time, specifically the agent who pointed his loaded firearm at Seth and also who shot and killed Chop," said Ong.
