Chris Rodriguez, Partner at Singleton Schreiber, was recently featured in The Davis Enterprise in an article titled “Civil lawsuit seeks damages for Esparto fireworks explosion.” In the article, Rodriguez discusses the firm’s lawsuit on behalf of Etta James Farming, which suffered crop and equipment losses after the July 1 fireworks explosion near Esparto, known as the Oakdale Fire.
The suit alleges the blast was caused by an illegal and unpermitted commercial fireworks operation and names multiple defendants, including a Yolo County sheriff’s lieutenant and fireworks company owners. “Those responsible for this explosion must be held accountable to help ensure this never happens again,” Rodriguez stated. The case continues alongside state and federal investigations into the cause of the explosion, which killed seven people and led to widespread damage.
