Join fellow Singleton Schreiber attorneys at the CAOC 64th Annual Convention for Beyond the Collision: Coverage Disputes, TNC Trends & Vicarious Liability in Auto Cases

Join Carmela Birnbaum at the CAOC 64th Annual Convention, where she will be moderating “Beyond the Collision: Coverage Disputes, TNC Trends & Vicarious Liability in Auto Cases” on Friday, November 14th, from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM (PT).

This session will explore the complexities of vicarious liability in vehicle-related cases, including exceptions to the going-and-coming rule, such as the required vehicle, special errand, and lunch break doctrines. It will also address how business travel impacts employer responsibility. Speakers will discuss strategies to oppose ridesharing companies’ motions for summary judgment on vicarious liability and share sample briefing materials, including an MSJ opposition and amicus brief. The session will conclude with practical insights on identifying additional defendants in trucking cases, addressing unique insurance considerations, and navigating the evolving landscape of F4A preemption.
